The Poultry-specific VET AMS module is designed to help industry, small flock and backyard poultry vets learn more about antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).
The topics covered in this module include:
– Legal aspects – defining poultry as food-producing animals from the legal perspective.
– Medication – principles of poultry medication.
– Commercial, small flock and individual bird – diagnostic and treatment options, including case studies and interviews.
– Prevention of disease – the science of strategies to avoid antimicrobial use in poultry.
The module was developed by the AMR Vet Collective and is available through their VetAMS online learning program.
